(ANSAmed) - SARAJEVO, MARCH 3 - The Italian embassy in Sarajevo has announced that on Thursday it will start a competition for amateurs "Sanremo mladih BiH", the first event of this kind organized at a national level in Bosnia. At the initiative of the Primo Liceo of Sarajevo, the embassy has organized a mini song festival for Italian-language students in Bosnia-Herzegovina and for youths who love Italian music.

Among the many initiatives organized by the embassy aimed at promoting the meeting, exchange and dialogue for Italian language and culture, the event running from Thursday, March 4, until Sunday, March 7, will have as protagonists 19 students from nine schools in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Zenica and Visoko.

The students will sing, play and present through video clips they have filmed that will be published on the Facebook page of the embassy "ItalyinBiH". A jury of professionals in the sector will pick the top three artists and those who will obtain more "likes" on the Facebook page on March 4-7 will win a special prize.

The competition is launched together with the radio program Radio Italia, organized by the embassy at the beginning of the pandemic to fill the void of events, which is now promoted by seven stations in as many cities of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and is dedicated to the high school student of Sarajevo Rijad Đulić, who tragically died last week and whose memory is honored by the event, together with family and friends and many schoolmates who have written many of the songs in competition.
