(ANSAmed) - SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 10 - A first group of migrants left the Vucjak camp in northwestern Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday afternoon. The camp is near Bihac along the Croatian border.

The migrants will be taken to safer lodgings not far from Sarajevo. The Vucjak camp lacks water, electricity, and basic hygiene standards and after the arrival of snow and freezing temperatures it became unsustainable for the approximately 600 people staying there. The Bosnian authorities, after pressure from the international community, decided therefore to close the camp .

Local media say that the transfer will take at least three days, Many migrants do not want to leave Vucjak since it is on the border with Croatia, which they would like to cross on their way to Western Europe. (ANSAmed).
