Crisis: Cyprus' trade deficit records decrease in 1Q 2012

(ANSAmed) - NICOSIA, JUNE 12 - The trade deficit of the Republic of Cyprus was 1.070,1 million euros in January-March 2012 compared to 1.228,8 million euros in the corresponding period of 2011, according to the monthly report "Intra-Extra E.U Trade Statistics" for March 2012, published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus. Referring to the main developments in Cyprus foreign trade, the report notes that total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) in January-March 2012 amounted to 1.396,0 million euros as compared to 1.570,1 million euros in January-March 2011. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states) in January-March 2012 were 325,9 million euros compared to 341,4 million euros in January-March 2011.(ANSAmed).
