(ANSAmed) - MILAN, SEPTEMBER 8 - Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio on Tuesday expressed concern for the situation in the eastern Mediterranean.

''We are following with concern the situation in the eastern Mediterranean, we have said several times that we give all our solidarity to Cyprus and Greece but we share with Spain the fundamental idea of supporting the attempt by the High representative of the European Union to reduce tensions and start dialogue between the sides'', Di Maio told reporters at Milan's prefecture, together with his Spanish counterpart Arancha Gonzalez Laya.

''We are strongly convinced that solutions must be found on the exploitation of energy resources to create conditions of stability and security in the area'', the minister added.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
