Sinai attack: Egypt temporarily re-opens Rafah crossing

For two days to enable pilgrims to return home

(ANSAmed) - ROME, AUGUST 10 - Egypt has decided to temporarily re-open the Rafah border crossing to enable Palestinian pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia to get home, the Palestinian Maan news agency reports.

The border crossing was closed after a deadly attack last Sunday against Egyptian border troops.

The leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Ismail Haniyeh, had launched an appeal earlier today, asking Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to re-open the border crossing between the Sinai and Gaza.(ANSAmed).
