'Port issue is secondary to security'

22 January, 17:14

(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, JANUARY 22 - The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee and assistant of High Representative Josep Borrell, General Claudio Graziano, told ANSA Wednesday that it is important to work on a mission already in place to monitor weapons in Libya.

    Like Operation Sophia, he noted.

''Creating a new one would require time and resources. On this the EU must speak in unison,'' he said. Graziano said that the issue of ports wherein to disembark migrants must be resolved but that this ''is a secondary issue to that of security''.(ANSAmed).
