03 August, 12:53

(ANSAmed) - PARIS, AUGUST 3 - The French Catholic Church has launched a campaign against a draft law making same-sex marriages legal in France. The Archbishop of Paris, André Vingt-trois, the president of France's Bishops Conference, called on policy makers to do what is "best for the entire community".

In a "prayer to France" sent to all the dioceses of the country, the archbishop called on "all those who have been recently elected to draft laws and govern, to have a sense of what is in the entire society's best interest rather than giving in to particular demands and listen to their conscience". The archbishop referred in particular to gay marriages and euthanasia.(ANSAmed).
