(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JANUARY 15 - A large contingent of Israeli soldiers on Wednesday entered the Jewish outpost of Kumi Ori (in Nablus, West Bank) to demolish two illegally built homes there, Israeli public radio said.

It said residents at the outpost put up physical resistance and threw rocks at the soldiers, one of whom was injured.

Kumi Ori is near another outpost, Yitzhar, considered a stronghold of the extremist fringes of the settlement movement.

Local sources said the army is currently overseeing the area and major intersections to prevent extremist Jews from retaliating with attacks against Palestinian villages in the area.(ANSAmed).
