TLC: Greece, digital switchover for state TV begins

17 August, 14:00

(ANSAmed) - ATHENS, AUGUST 17 - The analog signal of Greek state TV channels transmitted from Mount Imittos (Athens) will stop on Friday, as daily Athens News reports. Private channels have already switched over to a digital signal since July 20.

The switchover had been postponed for NET, ET1 and ET3 until after the 2012 Olympics on August 17. In order to receive the digital signal, older techology television sets will need a digital-to-analog converter that supports MPEG4. Mount Parnitha will continue to transmit the analog signal for all channels since it is not one of the 23 locations included in the first phase of the switchover. (ANSAmed).
