Crisis: Greek unemployent reached 27% in February

64.2% of youths aged 15-24 out of a job

    (ANSAmed) - ATHENS, MAY 9 - Greek unemployment reached 27% in February 2013, up from 21.9% in the same period last year, national statistics bureau Elstat reported Thursday. There were 245,021 more people out of a job (+22.8%) over February 2012 and 11,663 jobs lost against January 2013, according to Elstat.

    Unemployment among people aged 15-24 climbed to a record 64.2% from 54.1% in February 2012, the highest rate since Elstat began publishing youth unemployment data in 2006. (ANSAmed).
