06 May, 18:10

ROME - To commemorate Europe Day, on Monday 9th of May, Visions2Ventures and BeyondCSRNet, under the auspices of the Mayor of Lesvos and the support of European Commission's Representation in Athens and European Parliament's Representation in Greece, will be hosting "Co-working spaces, social entrepreneurship and the future of Europe" initiative at Mytilene Theater, to redefine a way forward for Europe. The refugee crisis can only be resolved through the active engagement of European citizens, who "embrace" the humanitarian challenges and transform them from a perspective of seeing refugees as a problem to a perspective of opportunity. We want this initiative to be a catalyst of social entrepreneurship and innovation as a major source of wealth and job creation.

"Our goal - organizers say - is to launch an inclusive and collaborative platform through a network of co-working spaces across Europe. We aim to bring together diverse stakeholders that represent refugee communities, academic institutions, entrepreneurs and investors who will co-create an enabling environment to develop tangible and sustainable solutions". Participants and supporters include: the Mayor of Lesvos, representatives from European Commission, European Parliament (Eliza Vozemberg & Nikos Androulakis), UNHCR, Ting Shih (Founder of ClickMedix), Coworking Europe, Refugees on Rails, Patrizio Nissirio (Chief editor, ANSAmed), Felipe Goycoolea (Millepianni), Alexander Theodoridis (Co-Founder of Boroume), Paul Keursten - Co-Founder of Workshop 17), EmpowerHack, Impact Hub Athens, The Cube, Programma integra, Delite Labs, Betahaus, Blue Growth, Aephoria Net.
