(ANSAmed) - Rome, June 19 - There are "still a few obstacles
to overcome" on an accord between the Holy See and Israel on Key
sites, says Giuseppe Lazzarotto the Vatican's ambassador to the
Holy Land.
But Lazzarotto said he was "optimistic" about the accord in an interview with Terrasanta.net.
He also said questions about the site of the Last Supper have "positive prospects" not only from the point of view of "restitution" but "continuing and systematic" use of a holy site.
Talks to reach an accord have been underway for 16 years but have been deadlocked over several financial and tax issues as well as the destiny of the contested properties in Israel.
