(ANSAmed) - ROME - Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said Wednesday in the lower house of parliament that Italy should recognize Palestine only when it ''will be the most useful to relaunch talks'' between it and Israel.

''The recognition of the State of Palestine is an important, startegic goal for the Italian government, not a symbolic act,'' he said. To solve the conflict, he said, the two-state solution should be achieved: ''an Israeli one enjoying full security and a Palestinian one on the June 1967 line of demarcation''. (ANSAmed)
