ROME - The vice-president of the Libyan Presidential Council, Fathi Al-Mejbari, has given Fayez al-Sarraj a 72-hour ultimatum to summon a meeting of the council of ministers of the government of national accord to discuss an agreement signed with Italy on the Italian naval mission.
According to the website Al-Wasat, the vice-president - who had already spoken against the Italian naval mission in recent days - has said that, ''we don't intend to be passive witnesses in the story of the government of national accord''.
Al-Mejbari said all of the government's decisions must be taken unanimously and thus ''all unilateral decisions taken by al-Sarrak are to be considered illegal''.
Al-Mejbari, who is one of four vice-presidents of the Presidential Council, then urged all officials not to respect these decisions and questioned the way Libya ''in the country's current circumstances'' will fund the Italian naval mission.
