Kosovo: U.S. supports 'highway for peace'

To connect Nis to Pristina after Washington's economic accord

16 September, 17:44

(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 16 - The American development finance institution (DFC) and the US export-import bank (EXIM) have signed protocols of agreement with Belgrade and Pristina to support the funding of a new highway between Nis (southern Serbia) and Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, the so-called 'highway of peace'. As stressed by DFC representative Adam Boehler, quoted by Serbian media, this will favor the economic development and regional integration, connecting Nis and Pristina, and will represent a strong symbol of new and fruitful relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

DFC and EXIM will invite their delegations to Serbia and Kosovo at the end of September to examine the perspectives of this project. The financial initiative was reached after the agreement of normalization of economic relations between Belgrade and Pristina concluded on September 4 at the White House in Washington in the presence of Donald Trump.(ANSAmed).
