(ANSAMed) - PARIS, AUGUST 7 - French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will visit Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey August 15-17, ministry spokesperson, Vincent Floreani, told reporters on Tuesday.

Fabius will visit two Syrian refugee camps and meet with political leaders in order to ''promote a fast, credible political transition in Syria,'' Floreani said. ''On this regional tour, the minister will express France's support of the Syrian refugees, who have been forced into exile due to violence,'' Floreani said. ''In meeting with leaders of the three countries, he will aslo renew France's support of their efforts to welcome the refugees.'' An interministerial mission left for Jordan on Tuesday morning ahead of the deployment of French military surgeons who will aid the refugees, as the government made known yesterday. France has provided food aid to over 100,000 Syrian refugees so far, Floreani added. (ANSAMed).
