Diplomacy: Winter School for Mideast and Med women is back

Italian foreign ministry and ISPI to train 20 young leaders

    (ANSAmed) - ROME, FEBRUARY 28 - The second edition of the 'Women in Diplomacy Winter School' will run from March 2 to March 8 in Rome and Milan.

    Organized by Italy's foreign ministry and the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI) in collaboration with the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), the week-long seminar will train 20 women aged under 35 hailing from Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen. The objective is to ''contribute to the education of the next generation of female leaders in an area of particular relevance for Italy''.

    The inauguration to take place on March 3 at foreign ministry headquarters in the Farnesina Palace in the Italian capital will be presided by foreign affairs secretary-general, Ambassador Michele Valensise, with the participation of, among others, Aspenia Director Marta Dassu, SIOI President Franco Frattini, Kosovar Minister for European Integration Vlora Citaku, Polish Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Henryka Mocicka-Dendys, and former Egyptian minister for family and population, Moushira Khattab.
