Military vows to retaliate

    (ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, NOVEMBER 19 - The Israeli Iron Dome air defense system on Tuesday morning thwarted an attack launched at the Golan Heights from Syria. The Israeli military spokesman said that four rockets had been intercepted while still in the sky.

    The military radio said that no casualties resulted the inhabitants of the area are in shelters, and that it is a ''very serious'' incident for which a reaction from the Israeli army is to be expected. It noted that the attack happened at 5 AM. Four rockets were launched at Mt Hermon. Meanwhile, life in the Golan Heights has returned to normal.

    The broadcaster said that the incident should be seen as part of efforts attributed by Israel to Iran to destabilise its northern border, in part through Shia militias active in the area. On reports from Syria on explosions at the Dasmacus airport over the night, Israel said that it had not conducted any attack in Syria. (ANSAmed).
