(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, MARCH 30 - The Serbian government is preparing a broad package of measures totaling more than five billion euros to support the economy and employment, which has been hit hard by the coronavirus emergency.

Speaking on private broadcaster Prva on Sunday evening, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the government is also contemplating a measure that would give a one-time payment equivalent to 100 euros to all adult Serbian citizens.

Vucic said there will be no cuts to pay or pensions.

He will announce the measures in detail on Tuesday. He said he is optimistic about Serbia's ability to recover following the health emergency, given the good state of the country's budget and economic and financial indicators.

Vucic said he believes the country will come out of the crisis better than other countries in the region.(ANSAmed).
