Coronavirus: Infections in Serbia rise to 1,060, 28 dead

Among five victims today was secretary of state to environment

    (ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, APRIL 1 - Another 160 cases of coronavirus were registered over the past 24 hours in Serbia, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1,060, with a total of five new deaths, bringing the total number of victims to 28, said health authorities.

    Among the victims was Branislav Blazic, the Serbian secretary of state to the environment ministry, who was hospitalised in serious condition after being infected with Covid-19.

    In a press conference, the deputy director of the Batut Medical Research Institute, Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, said there are 648 patients hospitalised, 72 of whom are in intensive care.

    Of the 28 victims registered thus far, 21 were men and seven were women. The most recent five deaths were of men with an average age of 61 years old.(ANSAmed).
