Focus on people returning from holidays in Croatia

19 August, 14:55

(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, AUGUST 19 - A total of 37 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Slovenia over the past 24 hours on Wednesday, 10 more compared to Tuesday. Regional media said the total number of cases since the start of the epidemic now stands at 2,493, with the number of deaths holding steady at 129. There are 17 people currently hospitalised, three of whom are in intensive care. Authorities in Ljubljana said many of the infections in recent weeks have been "imported" from people coming back from holidays in nearby Croatia, and the authorities haven't excluded the possibility of placing restrictive measures on people entering from that country. In June, Slovenia was on the brink of declaring an end to the epidemic, but in recent weeks cases have begun to rise sharply, as in other countries in the Balkans region.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
