30 May, 16:21

(ANSAmed) - MADRID, MAY 30 - A number of incidents have been reported in Pamplona and Bilbao during Thursday's general strike called by the independent trade unions ELA and LAB in the Basque Country. Eight protestors were arrested in Pamplona for public disturbances, while in Bilbao some of the demonstrators left the march on the city's main street and spread into the surrounding ones, yelling insults and threats at shopkeepers and workers who were not taking part in the strike. The insults also targeted the Basque police, accused of ''assassinating'' the Atletico Bilbao fan Inigo Cabacas, who was killed by a rubber bullet on April 9,2012, during incidents between the football club's fans and those of Schalke 04.
