(ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, FEBRUARY 7 - Syria will cooperate with
any efforts exerted to support stability in Syria, said Syrian
President Bashar al Assad to Russian Foreign Minister Serghiei
Lavrov in Damascus. Syria, said Assad, quoted by the SANA
agency, ''is determined to carry out national dialogue with the
participation of representatives of the government, the
opposition and independent figures."
Assad also thanked Russia for its stance at the UN Security
Council and its ''commitment to supporting dialogue and national
solutions instead of escalation and dictations practiced by some
countries which do not take the interests of the Syrian people
into consideration." (ANSAmed).
