Mideast: Israel, missile from Syria fired at Golan Heights

30 November, 11:54

(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, NOVEMBER 30 - A surface-to-air missile fired from Syrian territory exploded overnight in an open area near the Golan Heights, an Israeli military spokesman said Friday. The spokesman said the exact location of the impact has not been identified yet.

The incident occurred as part of Syrian anti-aircraft intervention against planes that last night attacked military targets south of Damascus. The Israeli military spokesman did not comment on the attack. However, he denied reports from Syrian sources claiming that the Israeli jet was hit.

Israeli press reports meanwhile highlighted that an Iranian plane flew from Tehran to Beirut, allegedly carrying weapons for Hezbollah. (ANSAmed)
