(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, OCTOBER 6 - Tunisia and France signed a
protocol relating to a financial aid accord worth 20 million
Euros to be destined to the support of special military forces
and cooperation between the two countries in the realms of
intelligence and the fight against terrorism.
While signing the document, French Defence Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, stressed that it is time to re-examine the protocol of the defence accord sealed by France and Tunisia in 1973.
Tunisian Minister of Defense, Farhat Horchani, announced that the Tunisian-French Joint Military Commission shall convene towards the end of October 2015 and that the first items on the agenda will be training and intelligence as well as the possibility of creating a second batallion of special forces in Tunisia.
