(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, SEPTEMBER 8 - Twenty-three organizations and associations representing Tunisian civil society have firmly condemned the terror attack in Sousse on Sunday in which a security guard was killed and another wounded.

In a joint statement the network asked to drain the financial resources of terrorism to fight this ''persistent scourge''.

''This scourge of extremism (takfirism) is only the result of a cultural and educational desertification that was planned and funded for decades at a local, regional and international level with the objective of sowing hatred for Tunisians, dividing them and destroying all of their means of defense'', the associations wrote, stressing that the fight against terrorism requires a global approach to deal with the phenomenon in its various aspects.

''This requires first of all to discover the truth on local and regional networks that support and finance terrorism in Tunisia and then to prosecute those who are responsible'', they added. The signatories included the Tunisian association for the defense of academic values, the Tunisian association for positive prevention and the Union of unemployed graduates.(ANSAmed). (ANSA).
