(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, APRIL 12 - Automotive production in
Turkey was down 8% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2012, as
Anatolia news agency reported. According to figures of
Automotive Industry Association (OSD), Turkey's automotive
production was down 8% and car manufacturing was down 16%
year-on-year in the first quarter of 2012. The overall
automotive production was 144,000, Turkey produced 98,000 cars
in the mentioned period. Turkey-made automobile sales were down
17%, while the decrease in imported automobile sales was 22%
year-on-year in the first quarter of 2012. Moreover, Turkey's
automotive exports were down 6% and the decrease in car exports
was 10% in the same period. Turkey exported 200,000 automotive
products and 113,000 cars in the first three months of 2012.
