Spadotto abducted in exchange of lands and a prisoner

(ANSAmed) - SAN VITO AL TAGLIAMENTO (PORDENONE), JULY 31 - Alessandro Spadotto, the Carabinieri officer deployed as security personnel at Italy's embassy in Sanaa has been kidnapped by a local tribe. In exchange for his release, the members of the tribe claim the release of a prisoner and some lands around Sanaa.

This news arrived last night, together with statements from Yemeni Minister of Internal Affairs.

Italian Farnesina has activated all channels to follow the case closely.

The Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abu Bakr al Qirbi over a long phone call with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi, assured the absolute willlingness of Sanaa government to cooperate.
