(ANSAmed) - DOHA, 20 JUNE - The Italian Business Council Qatar (IBCQ) organised a charity dinner in the prestigious Grand Hyatt in Doha; Parmesan cheese will be sold in order to help people affected by the earthquake in Emilia Romagna. The news were reported by Qatar's newspaper The Peninsula. The IBCQ aims at promoting this typical Italian product and attracting restaurants, shopping centres and supermarkets, inducing them to offer Parmesan cheese among their other dishes. "Parmesan cheese produced in Emilia Romagna is one of the main sources of profit in the local economy; that is why the Italian Business Council Qatar chose to promote this very product to emphasize the importance of supporting the areas affected by the earthquake," Palma Libotte, the Chair of the Italian Business Council, stated. Approximately 600,000 whole Parmesan cheese were destroyed or damaged by last month's earthquake in Emilia Romagna, which seriously impacted the small and medium enterprise sector. (ANSAmed)
