Cinema: Giovanna Taviani's SalinaDocFest starts Friday

Two international premieres and documentaries in competition

    (ANSAmed) - PALERMO, SEPTEMBER 22 - Everything is ready for the new edition of the ''SalinaDocFest'' created by Giovanna Taviani which will kick off on Friday.

    World premieres will be presented: 'Movida' by Alessandro Padovani and 'Blocconove' by Michele Silva, Federico Frefel and Léa Delbés. Director and screenwriter Daniele Vicari will be awarded the prize Ravesi 'Dal testo allo schermo' during the presentation of his book Emanuele nella battaglia (Einaudi).

    Jasmine Trinca will award the prize Tasca D'Oro to the best documentary in competition. Comedians Ficarra and Picone will be guests in Salina.

    Giovanna Taviani illustrated the program of the festival, which this year doubles offers, and Maud Corino, who is responsible for the selection of the competition, together with Antonio Pezzuto (and the external collaboration of Ludovica Fales and Franco Dassisti), has presented the selected documentaries, including two world premieres and four for Rome, competing for the Tasca d'Oro and the prize Signum for Sicilian students. Giovanna Taviani, remembered the youthful spirit of Ettore Scola, who will be honored this year at the festival. In a lively duet with Silvia Scola, author with Paola of the documentary Ridendo e scherzando (Laughing and joking) (''which we will present at the festival with Pif''), focusing on the relationship between fathers and daughters, fiction cinema and documentaries.
