Rem Koolhaas to direct Venice Biennale of Architecture

(ANSAmed) - Venice, January 8 - World-renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas has been named the director of the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2014, organizers announced Tuesday. The decision came during a board meeting chaired by Paolo Baratta.

The event, which alternates years with the more famous Biennale of Art, was last held in 2012 and directed by British architect David Chipperfield. Established in 1980, the festival is among the most important events in world architecture.
