Libya: 100 scholarship winners on their way to Italy

    (ANSAmed) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 26 - One hundred Libyan students have won bursaries provided by the Italian government to study in Italy during the 2013/2014 academic year. The students will be arriving in Italy between October and November. Along with the head of the Libyan Graduates Association in Italy, Salah Zarough, and the association's board of directors, they have met with Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi. In addition to the University for Foreigners in Perugia, which will enable about fifty Libyan students to follow course in Didactics of Italian as a Foreign Language and Italian Language and Culture, the universities include: the University of Bologna, Florence, Siena, Ancona, Camerino, Turin, Rome and Milan. In addition to Italian language studies, scholarship winners will be studying engineering, tourism marketing archaeology and political science. Thanks to support from the University of Perugia, notes the Italian Embassy in Tripoli, 13 Libyan scholarship winners with previous teaching experience will be able to attend a special, 12-month course in Italian didactics.
