Art galleries in Amman, Beirut present Syrian art work

"Syrian artists speak out, we are alive"

    (ANSAmed) - AMMAN, FEBRUARY 4 - A group of Syrian artists to show case their art work inspired by the blood shed in their homeland and the humanitarian disaster in two galleries in Amman and Beirut during February, organizers said today.

    The exhibition will run between February 2 to February 27 in the capital Amman and Beirut, where the largest part of Syrian refugees have escaped.

    Orient Gallery in Amman and Art Residence Aley in Beirut are cosponsoring to present the exhibition titled "Syrian Art in Hard Times". Seven Syrian artists will take part in this exhibition: Adnan Abd El Rahman, Hasko Hasko, Rabee Kiwan, Husien Tarabieh, Khaled Al Boushi, Remy Haddad and Mohamad Omran.

    "In contrast to mainstream media reports, the exhibition seeks to provide a different perspective on the Syrian crisis from the creative minds of those living it," said organizers in a statement.

    "Through the lens of the artists, the exhibition shows how war has discoloured Syria," it added. "Despite their bruises, the art speaks out: we are very much alive."(ANSAmed).
