TUNIS - The Puglia-based dance company ResExtensa will perform 'The Magic Island-Shakespeare in Dream' at the 4éme Art Theatre in Tunis, home of the Théâtre National Tunisien, on March 23 during the week of World Theatre Day, which takes place on March 27.

The show will be in Tunis through the support of the Italian Institute of Culture, and brings together words, lights, and music with the magic of air dancing by choreographer Elisa Barucchieri.

The performance intertwines verses from Shakespeare together with an original text by Selene Favuzzi and music by conductor Luigi Maiello.

Shakespeare uses magical characters in many of his works, including the three witches in Macbeth, the spirit Ariel, the magician Prospero, the elf Puck, and the witch Sycorax.

In this performance, Shakespeare is suspended in a sleepless night together in a theatre populated by those characters, in order to understand the meaning of magic.

The air dancing by ResExtensa is accompanied by the voices of actors Francesco Carrassi, Lucia Zotti, and Paolo Proietti.(ANSAmed).
