Tunisia elected to UNESCO Executive Board

During 40th General Conference in Paris

    TUNIS - Tunisia was elected to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Executive Board for 2020-2024, following a vote at the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, taking place from November 12 to November 27.

    Tunisia will be on the executive board together with two other Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, selected in Group V: Algeria (100 votes), Saudi Arabia (113 votes), United Arab Emirates (107 votes), Qatar (93 votes), and Tunisia (103 votes).

    The Tunisian delegation in Paris is being led by Cultural Affairs Minister Mohamed Zine El Labidine.

    Together with Ghazi Ghrairi, permanent delegate of Tunisia to UNESCO, he is currently participating in the UNESCO General Conference at the organisation's headquarters in the French capital.
