(ANSAMED) - MADRID, APRIL 10 - European Commissioner Jose Manuel Durao Barroso called the current 56% jobless rate in Spain ''unacceptable'' at a visit to Alicante on Thursday. Barroso was quoted by the media as saying that EU member states have pledged to ensure that all youths under age 25 can receive a job offer of quality, continued training or a four-month internship contract after regular training or on losing their jobs. In boosting the EU's financial aid to investors to create jobs, Barroso noted that the Spanish government had pledged to implement the program and insisted on the fundamental role that the knowledge economy will have in the future.
