(ANSAmed) - CAIRO - Milan Expo 2015 ''on an economic-commercial cooperation level is the most important opportunity to further boost bilateral relations between Italy and Egypt'', said Italy's Ambassador to Cairo, Maurizio Massari, also mentioning fairs scheduled alongside the world's fair.

Addressing a press conference on Expo at the embassy, Massari quoted as a first example ''Expo Business Matching'', a ''web platform for company correspondence and B2B relations'' created ''in order to facilitate contacts between Italian and foreign companies, and thus also Egyptian ones'' during the Exposition.

And another concrete opportunity for Italian and Egyptian firms is represented by ''the different fairs that will take place in these six months''.

During expo, the activities of the Fair of Milan include 26 specialized fairs, recalled the director of ICE-Italian Trade Promotion Agency in Cairo, Massimiliano Sponzilli, stressing the ''synergy'' represented by the possibility for exhibitors and visitors at these events to also visit the Universal Exposition, accessing it through a specific ''catwalk''.

The first among these fairs is ''Tuttofood'' which wraps up today and sees the participation of 10 Egyptian firms over 144 square meters of exhibiting space, said the secretary general of the Italian chamber of commerce for Egypt, Soliman El-Wazzan, adding that 27 Egyptian enterprises have visited the fair dedicated to food, sweets, organic products and beverages.

El-Wazzan also cited ''Homi'', the international fair dedicated to the home scheduled on September 12-15. Along with Tuttofood and Homi, said Sponzilli, ''of particular importance for Egypt'' is also the ''Ipack-Ima'' (food processing and packaging on May 19-23) with the participation of an Egyptian delegation of 29 operators, the ''widest'' among those invited to attend the fair. The director of ICE in Cairo also quoted, in this respect, the ''most important'' fair worldwide for leather products and shoes (Micama and Mipel on August 30-September 2) and ''shortly before the end of Expo'' (October 21-23) ''Smau'', the information technology fair - ''a projection into the future'' within a ''sector that is surely of interest for this country as well''. On the sidelines of Expo ''will be organized visits by Egyptian businessmen'', also announced Mohamed Abdelwahed from Eeca, the Egyptian trade fair authority.
