(ANSAmed) - ROME, OCTOBER 20 - New export opportunities in the United Arab Emirates for Italian companies after the agreements signed by SACE with the Dubai Aviation City Corporation (DACC) and Abu Dhabi Ports, on the occasion of the Emirati National Day at the EXPO.

The accord with DACC, said the renowned insurance-finance group active in export credit, is intended to support export and investments by Italian companies involved in the Dubai South project, an area of 145 square kilometers which will host the new international Al Maktoum airport and EXPO Dubai 2020. After the accord, SACE opened a one billion Euro line of credit for DACC for the purchase of goods and services by Italian companies. As well as EXPO Dubai 2020, Dubai South will also host the new international Al Maktoum airport, destined to become the largest airport in the world with a capacity for 120 million passengers and 12 tons of cargo each year, a free zone for logistics and storage for the aviation industry, residential and commercial areas inspired by the latest sustainable-city models (smart city). ''We are proud to sign at EXPO Milan 2015 an agreement creating important opportunities for our companies, especially the small and medium size ones, in one of the major investment projects of the UAE" commented Alessandro Castellano, managing director of SACE.

The second cooperation accord signed with Abu Dhabi Ports, a company managing the development of ports and industrial zones in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, entails the evaluations of important projects for Italian companies in the emirate (where Italian companies already export 5 billion Euros and services) in particular, with regard to the development of the Khalifa Port, the port of Abu Dhabi and the free zone of Kizad.

Emirati Minister of the Economy, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, and Italian Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi were present at the signing of the agreements.
