Netanyahu halves the transfer of diesel for Gaza power station

    JERUSALEM - The Israeli air force conducted airstrikes over the night between Sunday and Monday on military positions in the Gaza Strip after three rockets were launched from Palestinian territory towards southern Israel. The military said that the airstrikes had hit the office of a Hamas commander in the northern Gaza Strip. No victims have been reported. At least two of the rockets launched from Gaza were intercepted by the Israeli missile defense system.

    Israel halves diesel for Gaza power station after rockets

    After three rockets were launched from Gaza at Israel over the night, Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu on Monday morning halved the transfer of diesel for the electricity station in the Gaza Strip. The measure will remain in place until further notice. The announcement was made by Coordinator of the Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) chief Kamil Abu Rukun. Diesel passes from Israel to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom border crossing. The power station provides electricity to most of Gaza.
