Financing and investments in Africa at 'FITA 2020'

The event will be held in Tunis on February 4 and 5

    (ANSAmed) - TUNIS, JANUARY 20 - A total of four thousand finance professionals are expected from 20 Sub-Saharan African countries as well as about 50 representatives from international institutions for the 3rd international conference on financing investment and trade in Africa (FITA 2020) in Tunis on February 4 and 5.

    Organised by the Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC), the conference aims to create a favourable environment for sharing and a framework of proximity for productive dialogue between decision-makers and key actors in the public and private sector.

    The conference will have more than 2,000 meetings between international investors, representatives of international banking institutions, and directors of investment institutions.

    Organisers said the event is an opportunity to continue to make the private sector's voice heard on topics of financial support in Africa, the main themes of structurisation of African economies and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

    There will also be a focus on the entrepreneurial environment, on sector development strategies, on local transformation and industrialisation, as well as way sto improve competitiveness.

    FITA 2020 will also be the main event for connecting Tunisian businesses with pan-African and international donors for obtaining financing and speeding up growth on the continent, TABC said. The event will help identify new commercial opportunities with current and future partners and will help with orienting company strategies based on current economic trends.

    Various topics will be covered during the two-day conference, in particular "The role of insurance in development of inter-African trade", "The impact of the digital transition on the African economy", "Ecowas-Comesa: trade with Tunisia and feedback experience", and "Economic integration and the role of the AfCFTA".(ANSAmed).
