(ANSAmed) - PARIS, MARCH 24 - France has urged its citizens to return to the fields. Agriculture Minister Didier Guillaume has called for those not currently working due to the coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic to take to the fields and ''join the large army of French agriculture'' seeking manpower.

''There is now the chance to have 200,000 direct jobs in agriculture trades,'' the minister told BFM-TV, calling on those willing and able to do so to ''take to the fields'' in an already difficult context in which France has millions of unemployed citizens as well as hundreds of thousands kept at home due to COVID-19 measures.
