(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 28 - Mobile roaming charges in the Western Balkans will be scrapped completely on July 1, 2021, the participants of the 3rd Western Balkans Digital Summit in Tirana confirmed.

At the opening of the online summit Regional Cooperation Council Secretary-General Majlinda Bregu said a historic agreement signed in Belgrade last year had marked the start of a phased abolition of roaming charges.

She said the Belgrade agreement had been a major step forward and that a third step over the medium term would be a reduction of roaming charges between the Western Balkans and the EU.
