(ANSAmed) - MADRID, 06 APR - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced the government's goals on Covid vaccinations for next month during a press conference on Tuesday.

"We are at the beginning of the end of the pandemic," he said.

Sanchez said the government plans to have 25 million people vaccinated by the week of 19 July and 33 million (70% of the adult population) by the end of August, adding that these were the "most cautious" estimates.

The national plan therefore foresees having five million people vaccinated with two doses by the week of 3 May, 10 million by the first week of June, and 15 million by the week of 14 June.

Sanchez also added that by September the government plans to be able to offer the vaccine to "any Spanish citizen".
