(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, FEBRUARY 7 - Sonatrach, Algeria's public
energy group, invested 12 billion USD in 2011 in the development
of its activities in the oil and gas sector. This was reported
in a press briefing by the group's president and general
director, Abdelhamid Zerguine, quoted by APS. In 2011 the group
produced 206 million TOE (tonnes of oil equivalent).
Exports reached around 72 billion USD, against 57 billion in the previous year, a 26% increase. Contributions to the Treasury increased by 27%. (ANSAmed)
