NAPLES - Malta will host discussion meetings from November 12-14 on the topic of "Knowledge Transference in the Blue Economy: Technological Innovations, Clusters, Financing Opportunities and Environmental Challenges".

The event is part of the Blue Energy Lab, open discussion meetings that involve institutions, universities, civil society and businesses in orienting themselves based on specific local contexts in the sector of blue energy, which requires a high level of innovation, scientific support and public participation.

The Blue Energy Lab meetings are an essential part of the European "Maestrale" project, which is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development, as part of the Interreg MED Programme.

It involves 11 partners from eight EU member states: Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, and Slovenia.

Its goal is to develop a common vision and strategy to take advantage of and enhance the Mediterranean as a source of sustainable energy.
