(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, AUGUST 27 - A new meeting between Serbian and Kosovan presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci, has been scheduled on September 7 in Brussels as part of EU-sponsored talks for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, Serbian media reported on Monday. Reports added that the meeting will be hosted, as mediator, by EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

Media in Belgrade also said that President Vucic will announce his proposals to solve the problem in Kosovo in a speech to the Serbian community during his visit to Kosovo on September 8-9. The plan would reportedly be at the center of a referendum in Serbia.

Over the past few weeks the debate on the controversial issue of the final phase of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina has intensified with local media insisting on a possible official demarcation of the border between Serbia and Kosovo and an exchange of territories - with Serbian-majority northern Kosovo going to Serbia and the Albanian-majority Presevo Valley going to Kosovo.

Belgrade does not recognize the independence proclaimed in Pristina on February 17, 2008, and has never spoken about a border between two sovereign states but about an 'administrative line' dividing Serbia from Kosovo's 'territory', which it still considers its southern province under UN administration.
