(ANSAmed) - RABAT - The third edition of the African contemporary art fair '1:54' - one continent for 54 countries - is opening at the Mamounia in Marrakech on February 20-23.

The event, which has attracted thousands of visitors during its previous editions, is organized across 20 art galleries that will display the artwork of 70 up-and-coming talents from 10 countries.

Founded in London in 2013, promoted in New York two years later and then presented in Marrakech in 2018, the exhibit is an important appointment for experts. It includes round tables with artists, art critics and curators as well as projects in private galleries, schools and public spaces of the city such as the Foundation Montresso and the Macaal and Daint Laurent museums.

'1:54 Forum' will be the title of conferences organized at The Showroom, the London private space that has been at the forefront of the involvement of the area north-west of the Thames.

The 2020 edition is divided into two parts, for operators and collectors, and will be open to the public starting on the 22nd.

Italy's 'Primo Marella Gallery' will be present and has attended all editions of the fair.(ANSAmed).
