Designer Taslaq brings out Arab glamour at Jordanian exhibit

(ANSAmed) - ROME, MARCH 23 - The presentation was of an exhibition organised by NGO A.V.S.I., the voluntary association for international service in development cooperation projects across 38 countries and of a guided tour of a figurative art show titled 'Reflections from the Sky, Meditations on the Earth: Modern Calligraphic Art from the Arab World'. Also present at the event was Royal Princess Wijdan F.Al Hashemi, sister to King Hussein of Jordan, who conceived the show, and is also Chair of the Royal Society of Fine Arts.

Princess Hashemi was also present as an artist, with one of her works in the calligraphic art exhibition: it consists of three drapes in Indian silk and Japanese mulberry paper painted with Arabic characters in gold.

The new spring-summer high fashion collection by Taslaq is a triumph of inlay work, of volants, rouches and precious embroidery on tulle, with the form of petals of silk, gold, silver, sequins and Swarovski crystal beads, for long evening gowns with rounded necklines at the back and vertiginous splits at the sides of the skirt. Also on parade were cocktail outfits and sculpted topcoats. The whole theme was linked with mini clutch bags completely covered in Swarovski jewels,produced by Glam Confidential.

Fashion designer Taslaq, who works for an international clientele from her central Rome studio, was also applauded by the wife of Italy's Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi, Antonella Cinque; Tiziana Alfano, wife of Angelino Alfano; Ester Crimi, Nancy Brilli, Anselma Dell'Olio, wife of Giuliano Ferrara and Desire' Colapietro Petrini who is the companion of BNL Chair Luigi Abete.
