(ANSAmed) - ANKARA, OCTOBER 9 - The son of Syrian Kurdish leader Saleh Muslim was killed Wednesday in clashes between Kurdish militants and an Al Qaida-linked group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Turkish news agency Anadolu reported Thursday.

Servan Musim, 20, reportedly died in Al Abyad near the border with Turkey. Kurdish and Al Qaida militants have been fighting over the past few weeks for the control of northern Syria which is mainly inhabited by Kurds.

Saleh Muslim, leader of the Democratic Union Party, the main Kurdish-Syrian political group, has recently accused Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan of helping armed groups close to Al Qaida, saying his claim was backed by 'evidence'.

Muslim called on Ankara's premier to 'withdraw his dogs and jackals from Rojava', Syrian Kurdistan. Ankara fears Kurds could create an autonomous entity along their borders. (ANSAmed)
