(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, DECEMBER 10 - The Israeli foreign
ministry has confirmed that Ouda Tarabin, a Bedouin citizen of
the Jewish state, has been released from an Egyptian jail.
Tarabin had finished serving a 15-year jail term on charges of being ''a spy''. According to local media, Israel released in exchange two Egyptians serving time there, at the end of their terms.
Egyptian news agency Mena, quoting an official source in Cairo, confirmed that ''two Egyptian citizens were released from Israeli jails in exchange for Israeli spy Ouda Tarabin as part of a prisoner exchange agreement between Egypt and Israel''. The source added: ''other Egyptians await to be released from Israeli prisons in future''. (ANSAmed)
